Down the stretch...

Less than 3 weeks to go! I now have a local contact...one of Covington's customers...I am going to make an attempt to visit him while we are there, he told me that he may be able to swing some passes for the air museum that is on Ford Island if anyone has any interest. He told me to plan as much stuff as possible and then try and see as much as we can. He also corrected my pronunciation of where we are staying, it is not Laie (LAY) it is Laie (La ay). Anyway, CONGRATS, Jeff and Dedra...now the trip is for 17...we are so excited for you guys. Just thought I would check in, if anyone has any questions for "my" local contact, I would gladly pass them along (although I did invite him to read our blog).

Just thought I would check in with everyone...does anyone think we need a last chance conference call ? Please post an opinion.

Today's word in Hawaiian is Pu'iwa I don't know the exact pronunciation but it means SURPRISE!!

I look forward to sitting out on the deck at 3:15 am, the temperature a cool 68 degrees, drinking my kona coffee and watching the sun rise....what time do you think the sun will rise?

I look forward to sitting out there with you. I am sure that my internal clock will not reset to Island time at least for the first few days. I think a call would be good if anyone has questions. I am still hoping that the hike and pearl harbor trip can be done on seperate days. My two things on my must do list are the volcano and pearl.

We took Granny out for lunch at Joe's Crabshack today. We sat out on the covered deck and pretended that the noise from the cars on the freeway was really that of ocean waves. She ate all of her fried shrimp. She says she's getting excited about the trip. She's doing so much better now, but gets tired very quickly. She won't be doing Pearl Harbor or Diamond Head.
