On the way!

Well I played a little golf today...couldn't get 18 in due to weather...anyway...Mom has printed out and shipped an itinerary. It is mostly just some of the things that we have discussed here on the blog and some other info (flight and house data, meal planning, ect.) I am hoping that this will be something we can use as kind of a travel guide, it has daily suggestions of things to do as well as room for notes if we see something we want to maybe explore later...when I originally started plotting out things to do I was sure to try and include things that were children and Granny friendly...please keep in mind that all of these things are only suggestions and if we don't want to do them then we can find other things to do or maybe we can all just go sit at the beach...lol...we are excited to go, less than 4 weeks now! If you type the zip for Laie, which is 96762, into the weather box over on the side you can get the five day forcast...looks like rain this week.

Today our word is kope [koh' peh] it means coffee...speaking of which the closest Starbucks is

well...I've officially reviewed all the documentation, the travel guide and a few blogs and just let me say....what a tour guide!!! Great job!

A few burning topics for us. Yes, a hike would be fantastic for me if I can squeeze it in.

Diamond Head may be a good family outing. It's only about 1.5 miles and the trail is paved.

Now, GOLF! After serious deliberation, significant thought, one golf lesson in Houston with Larry, and more deliberation....I do belief I will pass. For that morning, I'll venture out the the fam or venture out alone for a 1/2 day hike.

Let's quickly listen to the review for Turtle Bay. "...was designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay. Turtle Bay used to be labeled a wind tunnel; it still is one, though the irnonwood trees have matured and dampened the wind somewhat. But Palmer and Seay never meant for golfers to get off too easy; THIS IS A CHALLENGING course. The front nine with rolling terrain and lots of wind, play like a British Isles course. The back nine have narrower, tree-lined fairways and water." Suffices to me to say to all you golfers on the trip..."have fun"! Best ball can be just as fun with three.

I'll be reseaching a potential HIKE!!!!

Kids stuff...
Our Hawaii book shows stuff especially for kids and several match up with Robert's itinerary.
We've read:
The Bishop Museum is made for kids.

Honolulu Zoo

Shopping Aloha Flea Market that is more like a carnival.

Sea Life Park with the only Wholphin - freak of nature cross between a whale and dolphin,

Parks at Waimea, garden of delight for kids, waterfalls, pools, cliff divers to watch.

Shaved Ice at Haleiwa

Waikiki Aquarium

and possibly Hanauma Bay with fantastic snorkeling

i am a little disappointed rich but not really surprised, i know that golf is not your thing...we will have a lot of fun and you still have time to reconsider...i don't know what travel/hawaii book that you have but be aware that Waimea has been transformed into a botanical garden...the falls are still open to swim in but i don't think they do any cliff diving anymore...here is the web site...

http://oahu.aloha-hawaii.com/tours/waimea+valley,+oahu/

we are planning to visit there on day 4 i think...anyway...we are coming up on 3 weeks away...

You're probably correct re: the cliff diving. The travel book we have is from 2004.

OK, now let me get this straight. Day 3 - Golf Day. Guys take Convertible to play golf. Girls take other 2 vehicles (Vans) to go to Haleiwa. Is Richard going to Hike to his Hike????
