Down the stretch...

Less than 3 weeks to go! I now have a local contact...one of Covington's customers...I am going to make an attempt to visit him while we are there, he told me that he may be able to swing some passes for the air museum that is on Ford Island if anyone has any interest. He told me to plan as much stuff as possible and then try and see as much as we can. He also corrected my pronunciation of where we are staying, it is not Laie (LAY) it is Laie (La ay). Anyway, CONGRATS, Jeff and Dedra...now the trip is for 17...we are so excited for you guys. Just thought I would check in, if anyone has any questions for "my" local contact, I would gladly pass them along (although I did invite him to read our blog).

Just thought I would check in with everyone...does anyone think we need a last chance conference call ? Please post an opinion.

Today's word in Hawaiian is Pu'iwa I don't know the exact pronunciation but it means SURPRISE!!

On the way!

Well I played a little golf today...couldn't get 18 in due to weather...anyway...Mom has printed out and shipped an itinerary. It is mostly just some of the things that we have discussed here on the blog and some other info (flight and house data, meal planning, ect.) I am hoping that this will be something we can use as kind of a travel guide, it has daily suggestions of things to do as well as room for notes if we see something we want to maybe explore later...when I originally started plotting out things to do I was sure to try and include things that were children and Granny friendly...please keep in mind that all of these things are only suggestions and if we don't want to do them then we can find other things to do or maybe we can all just go sit at the beach...lol...we are excited to go, less than 4 weeks now! If you type the zip for Laie, which is 96762, into the weather box over on the side you can get the five day forcast...looks like rain this week.

Today our word is kope [koh' peh] it means coffee...speaking of which the closest Starbucks is

Today's word in Hawaiian is hele (heh' leh) it means go.

More Activities

Amanda and I would like to visit Pearl Harbor and I know there are others (Jeff and Richard) who would be interested in hiking Diamond Head. To best use the vehicles that we have available and the man/woman power that we have to watch the children, it has been suggested that we choose a day that both of these activities can be done. The Pearl Harbor visitors center opens at 7:30am and will probably take a couple of hours. I don't know who else may be interested in either of these activities but we probably want to discuss it. Here are some links:

The hike of Diamond Head also says that it takes about 1 to 1.5 hours to do...that could put it at about the same time frame as Pearl Harbor....both suggest early in the day starts, which means leaving the house probably around 5 to 5:30 am....check out these links...
Anyway, a discussion on these two activities is probably a good idea.
Todays word is `ohana (oh hah' nah) it means family.

FORE!

We have a tee time... at 6:54am we will be here http://www.turtlebayresort.com/Golf/Palmer_Course.asp

There are a couple of "tips" from the pros at the above web site, you can check those out, I don't think they will help my game but I will look anyway. After tonight we will be under 40 days to go, hope ya'll are getting excited!
